Itzik Benshalom (Israeli, b. 1945). "Three Seated Figures"- 1978 & 1980, gilt bronze, each signed, limited edition numbered, and dated. Three individual works of the same style, a group of three sculptures depicting seated modernist stylized nude figures, one seated flush to ground and two with legs bent to overhang an edge. Flush seated nude inscribed "I. Benshamon 80 76/500". Largest nude inscribed " 78 7-3-10 315/500 I. Benshalom". Smallest nude inscribed "I. Benshalom 78 7-3-10 237/500". Tallest sculpture approximate height 8.5" (5.25" from ground". Smallest sculpture approximate height 6.75" (3.625" from ground). Reclining nude approximate height 4", width 4.25", depth 2.5". Note: Itzik Benshalom is a self taught artist who has been working in the "Lost Wax" sculpture technique since 1967. His sculpture deals primarily with the human form in flowing lines and curves. Though his work shows the influence of the European modern art tradition, it has a distinctive flavor of its own in his stark approach to form. Benshalom's work appears in galleries, corporate and private collections throughout the United States, Europe, South America and Australia.
