Gli Etruschi (The Etruscans), (Italian, mid 20th century) circa 1950s-1960s. Collection of two mid century modern whimsical ceramic animal sculptures in the form of a stylized elephant and bull, each with polychromed decoration in primary colors (yellow, blue and red) in organic drip handling, likely retailed by Raymor. Elephant with squared body with scrolled trunk and squat legs. Bull with serpentine back accented with recessed black to brown stripe. downturned head with scrolled horns, supported on four squat legs. Elephant approximate height 10.25", width 11.75", depth 4.25". Bull approximate height 10", width 15.25", depth 6". Note: Gli Etruschi (The Etruscans) was by owned master ceramicist, Ivo De Santis. De Santis work was often featured by Raymor and Rosenthal-Netter.
