An early 20th century diminutive oil on vellum portrait painting after the original by noted French portrait artist François Gérard (French, 1770-1837), signed indistinctly at center right. Miniature portrait painting depicting a fair skinned and youthful Jeanne-Françoise Julie Adélaïde Récamier, with raven hair and bright blue eyes, seated on a salmon toned récamier, with draped blue fabric in the background. Framed approximately 6.75" x 6". Sight approximately 3.25" x 2.5". Note: alternative artist spellings include François Pascal Simon, Baron Gérard.
