Dutch School, late 18th century. "Chiaroscuro Portrait of a Lady", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Formal bust-length portrait painting with chiaroscuro handling of light depicting a fair skinned maiden dressed in green gown with open neck, with white lace bodice with maroon wrap covering her left shoulder, with her hair upswept into green headscarf tied in "Dutch Crown" fashion, the woman with quill and paper in hand, with head turned showing her face in profile. Framed approximately 37.75" x 32.75". Unframed approximately 29" x 24.25".
