English, 18th century. A rare stained and inlaid oval fruitwood tea caddy, with banded inlaid edges, the front with a marquetry inlaid pear tree atop a grassy hill, with an oval key escutcheon, the top with a marquetry inlaid flower within a central roundel, with a brass pull. Hinged lid opens to reveal a single lidded compartment, with a brass pull and remnants of the leaded lining. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 4.5", width 5.5", depth 3.2".
