Parang and Sheath, Indonesia, probably Bali, 19th century, the single-edge straight iron blade with damascene pattern and a slight bowing from the base outwards to a sharp point at the tip, the base of the blade decorated with a gilt-embellished recumbent mythical beast, the bronze hilt and sheath both worked with stylized scrolling floral design, with a leaf-shaped clip mounted on the underside of the sheath, overall lg. 24 in.
