William Zorach (American, 1887-1966) New Horizons Signed, dated, and numbered "Zorach 1951 5/6" on the base. Bronze with a dark green patina, conceived in 1951 and cast in 1983, 44 x 20 x 40 in. (111.7 x 50.8 x 101.6 cm). Condition: Dust and some oxidation to the interstices. Provenance: Estate of the artist, to Zabriskie Gallery, New York, purchased by the current owner c. 1997. N.B. The models for the sculpture were the artist's daughter-in-law Margaret Zorach and her baby son, Jonathan. Other casts of this sculpture may be found at the Portland Museum of Art, Maine, the Columbus Museum, Ohio, and at the St. Regis Hotel in Singapore.
