Persian, Late 19th/Early 20th century. Hand painted ivory plaque depicting a group of male polo players in middle of game surrounding a red ball laying at center of scene. Spectators of the sport and other figures on horseback throughout hills in background, Eastern architecture visible as well. Possibly signed with monogram in upper right corner. Sight size of panel approximately 4.7" x 7.75". Overall framed (in star motif mosaic frame) 7.5" x 10.5".
