Classical Carved Mahogany Veneer Glazed Desk and Bookcase, Boston, 1830s, the cove-molded cornice above the glazed doors flanked by columns with leaf carved tops and turned bases above a fold-out felt-lined writing surface, sectioned for writing implements above cockbeaded drawers flanked by similar columns with carved tops over four reeded and carved bulbous feet, the glazed doors open to a bird's-eye maple veneered interior of two adjustable shelves above valanced open compartments and five small drawers, brasses appear original, as do most of the turned wooden pulls, old refinish, (imperfections), ht. 88, wd. 44 3/4, dp. 32 1/4 in.
