Figural Sandstone Carving, America, early 20th century, depicting two mounted military figures in relief, the Confederate Generals Lee and Jackson, including stand, ht. 22, wd 26, dp. 1 1/2 in.; lot includes a 1925 U.S. commemorative coin. N.B. The carving depicts the same image as on the 1925 U.S. Commemorative half-dollar created by Gutzon Borglum to fund the carving of Confederate leaders and soldiers on Stone Mountain in Georgia. Borglum also carved the presidential figures on Mt. Rushmore. Provenance: Ricco-Maresca Gallery.
