Carter, Cabinetmaker, 49 Beckman Str., New York," c. 1835-45, the rectangular top over conforming case of central valuables drawer with rosewood panel, brass inlaid stringing and satinwood cross-banding flanked by two short drawers with concave facades over a case of one large and three graduated cross-banded drawers flanked by fluted, water leaf, and cross-hatch carved half-columns surmounted by arched inlaid panels ending in hairy paw feet, old refinish, replaced pulls, (imperfections), ht. 49 1/2, wd. 46, dp. 22 in.
