Federal Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Workstand, Salem, Massachusetts, 1800-10, the mahogany top with reeded edge is bowed on all four sides above the conforming cockbeaded two drawers and bag frame, flanked by reeded and ring-turned legs topped by the carved scrolled outset corners of the table, the two sectioned drawers have original turned wooden pulls, the legs terminate in original casters, old refinish, the sewing bag is a replacement, (minor imperfections), ht. 28 5/8, wd. 19 5/8, dp. 15 7/8 in. Provenance: Sold in 1982 in the Collection of Joseph H. Hirshorn, Sotheby's.
