Painted Tin Canister, probably Connecticut, early 19th century, the round cylindrical form with attached cover and bail handle decorated with yellow brush strokes, the body front with a band of green leaves and red cherries on white ground, above a panel of red and pink blossoms with yellow brushstrokes, the back with brushstroke and line decoration all on japanned bronze ground, (minor paint loss), ht. 6 1/2, dia. 7 in.
