Mahogany and Giltwood Eglomise Banjo Timepiece, Lemuel Curtis, Concord, Massachusetts, c. 1815, the brass eagle finials above the mahogany and gilt gesso case with brass bezel enclosing a painted and gilt iron dial inscribed "warranted by L Curtis" and eight-day weight-driven movement, the throat glass enclosing a thermometer and inscribed "L CURTIS PATENT," the lower tablet showing figures in a farm landscape, both framed by gilt spiral moldings and flanked by brass side arms, (restoration, imperfections), ht. 33 1/4 in.
