Continental School, 19th century. "David the Shepherd", bronzed spelter, apparently unsigned. Finely rendered figural sculpture depicting a young David as shepherd boy, the Biblical figure known for defeating the giant Goliath, the figure at full length walking bare footed through a landscape with wheat bundles between his feet and under his bent left arm, a single stem of wheat dangling from right hand down to a lamp walking beside the boy. Approximately 22.375" x 9" x 7.5"
