Federal Walnut Butler's Desk, Ohio River valley, possibly Kentucky, 1820, rectangular top with tiger maple veneered edge above a case of four drawers with matched walnut veneer bordered by tiger maple cross-banding and contrasting diagonal pattered inlay, the top drawer front drops to reveal an interior of a central prospect door containing three small drawers with a secret compartment behind flanked by two tiers of two drawers and two valanced compartments, all flanked by reeded pilaster and recessed panel ends, on vase and ring-turned legs, replaced brasses, refinished, (very minor imperfections), ht. 45, wd. 41, dp. 18 1/2 in
