Austrian, Late 19th century. Cold painted bronze figural inkwell in the form of a bust length black man with short hair and beard wearing a woven tan hat with hinged top that opens to reveal removable white porcelain inkwell within. Man wearing dark green to black top with gold cord bow terminating at tassels that act as pen well or stand. Impressed on back "BERG" possibly after Franz Bergman (Austrian, 1861-1936). Overall approximate height 3.5", width 4.4", depth 5".
