Jacob Henderson (American, b. 1800) Portrait of Five Sailing Vessels. Signed and dated "March 22, 1881" u.l. Pen and ink and watercolor on paper, sight size 22 x 28 in., framed. Condition: Light toning, stains, not examined out of frame. N.B. A note inscribed in the upper left corner reads "Jacob L. Henderson was Born in the Town of Hartford County of Washington and State of New York March 22, 1800. A present from Jacob S. Henderson to his grand son (sic) and grand daughter (sic) George and Mary Henderson Metamora Lapeer Michigan March 22 1881." Affixed to the reverse is a printout of a genealogy search of the artist.
