Federal Mahogany Inlaid Banjo Timepiece, Simon Willard, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1815, the cast brass eagle finial above a mahogany case with circular molded brass bezel and convex glass opening to a white painted convex iron dial and brass weight-driven eight-day "T" bridge movement, the tapering throat eglomise tablet with a flowering vine bordered in light green and black and sunburst all on a white background, the lower tablet with "Willard's Patent" and a border of conforming design, both framed by crossbanding and stringing and flanked by pierced brass side pieces, (some imperfections), ht. 32 3/4 in.
