Large "Lydia" China Shoulder Head Doll, Germany, c. 1840, creamy tinted china head, soft brown eyes with white highlights, black accent on rim, red line above eye, dark eyebrows, soft coral cheek coloring, (roughness and black spots tip of nose), long neck, fine white center part hair with thirteen long black coiled curls falling to the shoulders (small chip at base of one curl), sloping shoulders, slight molded bosom, three sew holes, cloth body with china limbs (may be new), redressed in cotton undergarments and print dress, ht. of head 6, doll ht. 28 in.
