Early Papier Mache Shoulder Head Doll, probably Andreas Voit, c. 1840s, doll known as Billy Ransom Younglove Gay, blue painted eyes, closed mouth, short black curly hair, brush strokes around face (nose dented, crazing, light soil, some chipping on hair and split on mold line), homemade cloth body, kid arms with mitt hands, dark blue checked wool trousers, striped velveteen jacket, brass button trim (moth damage, repairs), red leather slippers, ht. 21 1/2 in.
