Peterson 75 Non-Reg Officer's Sword, Civil War Era

Civil War era Peterson 75 non-regulation combat officer's sword with slightly curved 32. 5" blade etched with US surrounded by scrolled foliates on one side, opposite side with American eagle above Latin "E. PLURIBUS UNUM" on ribbon. Sword marked on one side for German manufacturer "SOLINGEN" and "PROVED" within circle on opposite side. Iron hand guard with pierced eagle motif above wire wrapped shagreen covered grip. Sword contained within scabbard with loops for carrying.
