Brass Holland Circle, late 17th/early 18th century, with central engraved compass, open circular frame with cross-struts, divided around the outer edge 0-180-0-180 by 10s and around the inner edge 0-100-0 x 4, with four fixed sights at the cardinal points, the rotating alidade with twin sights, the top with suspension ring, (lacking tripod mounting boss), dia. 12 3/4 in.
