Federal Gilt Gesso Mahogany Presentation Banjo Timepiece, attributed to Simon Willard, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1810, the brass cast eagle and urn finial above a gilded brass bezel and glass opening to a white painted iron dial and eight day brass weight driven movement with T bridge above the trapezoidal throat with eglomise showing a floral garden and urn above a scrolled banner lettered "...RD'S ...T" with flanking pierced brass side pieces above the pendulum box, the eglomise tablet with oval opening surrounded by red, green and gilt decoration and foliate border framed by gilt gesso spiral moldings, unrestored condition, ht. 35 in.
