Federal Mahogany Inlaid Banjo Timepiece, Simon Willard, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1805, the brass molded bezel glass opens to a painted iron dial lettered "Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Laughlin," with eight day brass weight-driven movement having a T-bridge suspension, above a trapezoidal eglomise white and salmon throat tablet and pendulum box below with matching tablet having floral garlands above the oval opening and lettered "S. Willard's Patent" below, frames stringing and mahogany crossbanding, with pierced brass side pieces, old surface, tablets appear original, (minor imperfections), ht. 30 in. Note: Clock impressed "45" in several places.
