Gloria Welby Fisher (American 19th Century) Pair of Portraits of a Man and a Woman. Both inscribed on the reverse "G.W. Fisher Artist 1850. Oil on canvas portraying a seated gentleman holding a letter addressed to "J.H. Neff Williamsburg, Blair, Pa" and stamped "PHILA APRIL 3," the other arm resting on a table with writing implements, the woman portrayed holding a lace handkerchief with a book of music on the table beside her, 25 x 36 in., in ornate gilt gesso frames. Condition: The gentleman with minor scattered retouch spots, the woman with retouch to face, dress and background.
