American, Mid 19th Century. American Rococo Revival carved rosewood single door armoire by Prudent Mallard (New Orleans, Louisiana) with gadrooned finial at top above scrolled, gadrooned, C scrolls and arabesques surrounding oval cabochon at center above hinged mirrored door that opens to shelved interior (shelves later replacements). Lower section with long pull out drawer with carved paneled drawer front above ornately carved apron. Approximate height (to top of finial) 110.5", width 54.5", depth 26.25". Provenance: M.S. Rau Antiques, New Orleans, Louisiana whereby acquired by Mr. and Mrs. Burkemper, St. Louis, Missouri in November 2001. Copy of invoice available upon request. _x000D_
