(Revolutionary War, Thomas Cushing to John Hancock), Two autograph letters signed, April 27th, 1776 and July 22nd, 1776, each one page, to Hancock as President of the Continental Congress, the first concerning the sale of a ship and arming it with cannon, with various comments on the conflict; the second concerning supplies for the troops, news from a courier from Philadelphia, Capt. McNeil, awaiting cannon and the enlisting of men, with address leaf, (first very faded, chipped).
