Gorham Sterling Aesthetic Movement Seven-Piece Tea and Coffee Service, c. 1880-1, comprising coffeepot, teapot, milk jug, kettle on stand, creamer, covered sugar, and open sugar, the pieces paneled ovoid, chased and embossed with central bands of dense wild roses and foliage, between paterae centered demilune lappets, and band of flutes engraved with Japonesque fans, lids and upper portions of bodies with all over hammered texture, mushroom finials, with bamboo handles and spouts, the kettle raised on bifurcate uprights, on oblong base with geometric rim and prunus feet, coffee pot and creamer engraved to underside with presentation inscription dated 1881, coffee pot ht. 9 in., approx. 128 troy oz. total.
