Brass Presentation Paperweight, in the form of an anchor, engraved on the base James Shewan & Sons Incorporated, Dry Docks & Ship Yards, 10 Dry Docks, Brooklyn N. Y. 5 x 3 1/2 in. James Shewan (1848-1914), a native of Scotland came to America as a young man where he made a fortune in property. He founded his shipyards in 1869 and it grew to become the largest dry docks in New York.
