"Pee-Che-Kir, A Chippewa Chief. ", hand colored lithograph, published by Daniel Rice adn James G. Clark, Philadelphia in 1843 as part of McKenney & Hall’s "History of the Indian Tribes", drawn, printed, and colored at The Lithographic & Print Colouring Establishment, No. 94 Walnut St., Philadelphia. Lithograph depicts the Native American Chippewa Tribe chief, Pee-Che-Kir (c.1759-1855) at bust length with face turned down and slightly to his left, the subject wearing natural colored garments, a metal arm band to his right arm, and holding a wooden pipe across his body, the end obscured by a blanket laid over his left shoulder. Framed approximately 28" x 23", 15.25" x 10".
