Haftorah Scroll, Probably Germany, late 18th century, square hand-lettered ink on vellum, on cherrywood rollers, ht. of scroll, 22 1/2 in. Provenance: Purchased from the antiquarian dealers Quaritch in 1877 by the Reverend Dr. Edward J. Young (1829-1906) Hancock professor of Hebrew and Dexter lecturer of Biblical literature at Harvard College.
