Rare American Colonial Muster Roll from "Queen Anne's War", dated June 30th, 1704, for the Independent Company of Fusiliers, one page, large folio, signed by Peter Schuyler (1657-1714), the 28th mayor of New York City, William Peartree, Attorney General of the Province of New York, Sampson Shelton Broughton, and Kiliaen Van Rensselaer, 12 1/2 by 16 1/2 inches. Note: Queen Anne's War was one of the earliest conflicts leading eventually to the better known French and Indian War. The battle for supremacy in the New World pitted England, Austria, the Netherlands and Portugal against France in an attempt to reduce the strength of the French. During this conflict 1704 marks the year of the Deerfield Massacre.
