Miniature Portrait Brooch, Bangor, Maine, c. 1812, small rectangular watercolor on ivory bust length portrait of Elizabeth Freeman (1786-1815), in a gold frame with seed pearl border, accompanied by three small notes: one note written in 1888 by her daughter Elizabeth Freeman Duren, concerning the birthday gift of the brooch to her daughter, another written by a great-granddaughter stating it was painted about 1812, the last written by a friend of the family who mentions the brooch was given to her after she bought a portrait from the great-granddaughter, 1 7/8 x 1 3/4 in.
