Sumner, Charles (1811-1874), Two autograph letters signed, 1859 and 1866, the first eight pages, the second four pages and to Mr. Woods, both ordering various goods from France, commenting on our relations with the French and in the second letter criticizes President Andrew Johnson for his actions during reconstruction, "he is impenetrable to reason," (some separations along folds).
