Washington, George (1732-1799), Autograph letter signed, Philadelphia, May 30th, 1775, one page, as Delegate to the Continental Congress, to Burwek Bassett, a letter of recommendation for a young man, "a good classick Scholar and of good moral character", with holograph address leaf and framed with the wax seal, (tears to address leaf, overlaid with thin japan, former fold separations).
