Baring, Maurice (1874-1946), Autograph letter signed, dated May 3, [19]10, four pages, to H. G. Wells regarding Baring's thoughts about Wells' book and its themes, "I see nothing wrong in your politics; although I don't believe Socialism would be a real remedy for the appalling injustice of things which exists now ... I agree with H.G. Wells in (thinking) that of the "Humanity Report" people had their way we should be governed like prisoners by wardens: Sydney Welt would banish beer from our life," (creases).
