Carved Wood Folk Art Boy Doll, probably America, 19th century, with socket head, dark painted curls falling across his forehead and in front of his ears, painted eyes, well-defined nose and lips, the tenon-jointed body with shapely individually carved fingers and lower legs of Bru style, articulated at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees, wearing later brocade suit with lace jabot and cuffs, ht. 29 in., (one ear chipped, right upper arm an old replacement in pine, two fingers repaired, areas of paint loss and overpainting).
