Augsburg-Pattern Equinoctial Dial by Andreas Vogler, signed on the underside And. Vogler , of gilt-brass octagonal form, with engraved design of flowers in roundels, silvered compass with blued-steel needle, hinged latitude arc, chapter ring scaled in Roman and Arabic numerals, pin gnomon and plummet on bracket, the base with three turned feet and engraved latitudes of Augsburg, Paris, Cracau, Prag and Leipzig , wd. 2 1/2 in., in original red paper-covered box with cut-paper decoration on lid; and an articulated ivory scoop (?) in the form of a monk or scholar.
