Paint-decorated Six-board Chest, New England, c. 1800, with till and sliding panel revealing secret drawers, the c. 1960 polychrome decoration simulating Pennsylvania German motifs attributed to Ralph Cahoon (American, 1910-1982), ht. 23 3/4, wd. 43 1/4, dp. 17 1/2 in. Provenance: the parents of the consignor lived in Falmouth, Massachusetts, and were friends of Ralph and Martha Cahoon.
