Aleksander Kobzdej (Russian/Polish, 1920-1972) Verticalite Signed and dated "Kobzdej 1959" l. r., signed, titled and dated on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 53 x 31 1/4 in. (134.4 x 79.3 cm), framed. Condition: Area of lifting c.l., canvas deformation c.r., unobtrusive surface grime. Provenance: From the artist to a private New England collection. There are several collage-like elements, and some of these show minor separation. There are also subtle rubs to the surface. The work might benefit from cleaning.
