Chelsea Keramics Art Works Pottery Vase Chelsea, Massachusetts, 1880-1889 Crackle glaze raised on recessed circular foot, impressed CKAW, ht. 7 in. This piece may have been executed by Hugh Robertson. The glaze is in the Oriental style. The Chelsea location was abandoned due to environmental reasons, and in 1895 a second location was established, familiarly known as the Dedham pottery, 1895-1943. This vase was a precursor to the crackle glaze that made Dedham pottery so collectible.
