Red, White, and Blue Pieced Cotton Soldier's Presentation Star Quilt, America, 1886, the quilt with twenty-five squares containing red and white eight-point stars, with red, white, and blue borders, and applied red floral embroidered white edging, a pen and ink inscription on a rectangular linen segment at the center of one end is inscribed: "A Soldier's Quilt Presented to Julius G. Morse, For Many Kindnesses. Presented by Mary S. Sheldon Age 82 years. Underhill Vt. July 21st 1886," red, white, and blue floral printed backing, (minor toning, minor stains), 71 x 57 in.
