Transfer-Decorated Liverpool Creamware Pitcher, England, early 19th century, the pitcher with black transfer decoration, one side depicting "Apotheosis Sacred to the Memory of Washington OB 14 Dec. A.D., 1799, AE 68," (with the word "Apotheosis" in white letters on a black banner), the reverse depicting a three-masted ship, a depiction of the seal of the United States is under the spout, the rim, base and handle embellished with gilt swags and foliage, (crack, gilt loss), ht. 10 in.
