Southern Plains Sewing Society Bag, Cheyenne, c. last quarter 19th century, the rawhide form covered with yellow stained hide and lined with calico, decorated with multicolored geometric and symbolic designs, red paint details, with beaded drops ending in wool tassels, twisted fringe carrying strap, lg. 7 1/2, ht. 5 in. Note: Purportedly collected by Frank Blair, a Federal court judge in Oklahoma Territory between 1870-1890s.
