Transfer Decorated "Athena" Pattern Staffordshire Pottery Covered Jar, England, c. 1858, domed octagonal paneled cover with blossom knop on jar with applied handles with leaf terminals, gray-blue transfer decoration depicting a statue of two women wearing Grecian robes, an urn and a vase, in a courtyard with distant formal courtyard, buildings, and mountains, the base with printed mark "M. T. & Co." and a diamond-shaped design registration mark, (hairlines on base, minor rim chips), ht. 17 1/4 in.
