Floral Decorated Stoneware Jar, "L. NORTON & SON," Bennington, Vermont, late 19th century, two-gallon ovoid wide-mouth jar with applied lug handles, incised line about the shoulder, decorated with a brown glazed stylized flower, Albany slip-glazed interior, impressed maker's mark, (hairlines), ht. 11 1/8 in. Probably Luman Preston Norton and son Julius. 2 in. hairline coming down from rim at center of one handle, a few flakes and small hairlines around just above base edge.
