Cobalt Blue Decorated Stoneware Crock, Lyman and Lyman Preston Norton, Bennington, Vermont, late 19th century, four-gallon straight sided crock with applied lug handles, incised lines and a cobalt blue bird on branch ornamenting the side, impressed cobalt filled makers' mark "L & L P NORTON BENNINGTON VT," Albany slip-glazed interior, (minor hairline, rim chips, glaze flakes), ht. 11 1/4 in. hiarline goes horizontally across one handle, several glaze flakes, some to cobalt blue glaze and areas on upper sides, and areas around flat portion of rim, two 1/2 in dia. shallow exterior rim chips.
