Three Small Oval Wallpaper-covered Bandboxes, America, second quarter 19th century, one with blue diagonal striped cover,the box and cover band with green, red, and brown stepped geometric designs; one with a white, pink, and green paisley floral design on the blue cover, the box with a green and brown floral pattern on a cream colored ground; the last with green and red diamond designs within green borders, with wood top and bottom, (losses around the cover of the last box), ht. 3, 3 1/4, 4 3/8, dia. 7 1/4, 6 3/4, 9 in. Exhibited: The first two exhibited at The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, By and for the People: American Folk Art From a Private Collection, October 3rd -November 14th 1976, retaining exhibition labels.
