Three Lesson Books, Abraham Jr. and Mary Capen, Stoughton, Massachusetts, early 19th century, the lesson books, called a manuscript by the authors, are filled with exercises in penmanship, math, surveying, and nautical charting, several with watercolor and pen and ink illustrations, one by Abraham Capen Jr. dated 1817, another by Doctor Asa Clark and purchased by Abraham Capen Jr. in 1812, and one by Mary T. Capen aged 12 years and dated 1839, (minor imperfections), 10 x 8-13 x 8 1/4 in. toning, foxing, some soiling, flyspecks, creased corners
